Jim Parke


CEO, Blue Ocean Enterprises, Inc.

As the CEO for Blue Ocean Enterprises, Inc., Jim Parke oversees all operations for the company including the legal, real estate, and finance departments, among other groups. He also provides strategic oversight in the formation and acquisition of new business ventures ranging from start-up companies to multinational corporations.

Parke also serves as CEO for Otter Products, LLC, where he drives strategic development for this global mobile accessory leader.  Parke brings to this role a deep understanding of corporate structure and finance, as well as experience developing and mentoring start-up and early stage companies.

Prior to moving into his current roles, Parke served as Blue Ocean Enterprises’ general legal counsel, in which he managed legal work for a variety of the firm’s private investments and provided legal advice in a family office capacity.

Previously, Parke worked as a corporate and tax attorney with Holland & Hart LLP and then with Minor & Brown, P.C., both in Denver, Colo. His primary focus was on estate tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and tax planning for privately held businesses and their owners.

Parke received a juris doctor degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

Parke is a Board Member for Reeled in for Life and previously served as a Board Member of the Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance (2012-2013), as Vice Chair of the Boy Scouts Denver Area Council Venturing Committee (2010-2011), on the Young Professionals Committee of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce (2010-2011), and on the Denver-Boulder Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics in Business Committee (2009-2011). Parke also has held various leadership roles in the LDS church.
